Our brothers in Parajok, South Sudan, were forced to flee into Uganda earlier this month (April) when a battle between government and rebel troops erupted. It is believed the area is a rebel hideout.
It is reported that over 130 people were killed in Parajok center. More than 20 young men were killed inside a school classroom (a government school next to an AIC school near the church). The young men had sought cover in the school against any crossfire by stray bullets.
More than 3,000 people were confirmed to have finally reported at Ugandan borders tired, cold and hungry and some were nursing wounds. AIC is ministering to the believers in the refugee camps.
This recent uprising only adds to the insecurity of the region. New refugees and displaced joined those who had already fled their homes.
We thank each of you who gave toward the AIC South Sudan relief. Please join us in praying for the refugees and the people still in Parajok during this difficult time.
