Update on 18-year-old accident victim

In case you missed it, last week we asked for prayer for the following:

  • On Saturday, April 15, 2017 a tragic traffic accident involved two daughters of one of our church planters in Prey Veng province Ses Noun. The younger daughter (Bopha Sot, age 16) died at the scene. The older daughter (Sopheak Sot, age 18) was transported to Calmette hospital in Phnom Penh in very critical condition with a broken nose, broken teeth, broken jaw and blood clot in the brain. Both of the girls were part of the worship team in their village church.

Here is an update on Sopheak Sot’s condition:

Family prays over Sopheak after her back surgery.

  • Thanks for all your prayers for Sopheak Sot and her family. She is still in the hospital. Last week, she had surgery on her back to fix a vertebrae that had been broken in the accident. Her father, Ses Noun (a River of Life church planter) related something that happened during his daughter’s surgery: “During the surgery, she woke up and called to Jesus Christ to help her with the pain; then she went back to sleep.” As far as the blood clot in the brain, we have not heard any more on that. We pray it has dissolved.

Please keep the parents in your prayers as they grieve for the daughter they lost, and are concerned over their badly injured daughter. Pray too for the extended family and village church.
