Training redirects church leaders’ lives

Over the past three years, Living Gospel Ethiopia has been training 42 leaders in an area about 150 miles from Addis Ababa. The participants are leaders in their various churches. Twenty-nine of them stuck with us for all the seven training modules. The first of this month (February), we finished the 7th module. Then we held a graduation ceremony for the 29 graduates.

Over these three years, we have seen many changes in the lives of the leaders. Their commitment to the ministry is stronger. Some planted three churches among an unreached tribe. In just the last six months, more than 69 people have come to faith in Jesus.

On graduation day, various graduates shared what the training meant to them:

  • If God had not sent us this training, I would have run from all church ministry because I was so frustrated, but when I learned about “leading by change,” all my thinking is changed. From all the training modules, I have seen what to do and where to go.
  • When I started the training, I came only to tell the leaders I was quitting, but I kept on with the training and I got answers to my personal life and to my ministry. I know what to do and how to do it.
  • This training shaped my life; now I know how to work with others.
  • Now I know ministry is not self-benefiting but benefiting others.

These leaders trained another 312 ministers under them. Praise be to God for the training and successful completions.
