John LaRue is a Managing Partner with his wife, Carole, in Bay Avenue Ventures LLC, which invests in startup businesses including Meineke Car Care franchises in the Tampa Bay area and their son’s leather craft business. From July 2009 to July 2014.
John was a Vice President at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews focusing on marketing, communications, and fundraising analytics. Prior to that John served in Christian publishing for 25 years, 21 of which were with Christianity Today where he lead the development of ChristianityToday.com beginning in 1994 and served as VP and publisher of the Christianity Today Media Group. He also co-founded the Global Christian Internet Alliance in 2001.
John holds an MA in Communications from Wheaton College Graduate School and a BRE in Pastoral Ministries from William Tyndale College. He serves on the boards of Growthtrac, an online marriage ministry, and Gilgal Gospel Mission based in India. He also is on the advisory board of Magazine Training International.
John and Carole married in 1977 and currently live in the Tampa Bay area where they attend Lakeview Community Church. They have two grown sons (Robert and Peter) and one wonderful granddaughter.
