We distributed many kinds of relief goods including bundles of metal roofing, blankets, tarps, rice, cooking oil and salts for hundreds of families in many villages. It was not in our plan, but we got a call from a pastor who told us the government secretary was withholding relief goods to 35 Christian families due to their faith in the Lord. We took relief goods to these families and warned the secretary not to treat Christians that way anymore.
We have been doing relief work in Dhading district where there are a few Christians in those villages. Most of these Christians have many questions that only God can answer. Some lost their spouse and/or children. Many lost the few belongings they had and their livelihood.
We held several trauma seminars in churches in this district to help people find answers or at least be able to get on with their life. I tried to counsel them by sharing my life testimony and difficult childhood. I shared how my wife and I also went through a situation which we found very hard to handle. When we were serving the Lord in Tibet, our four-year-old son got very sick. There were no hospitals around, and treatment was too late for him and he died. The earthquake victims and I often cried out to God together in the seminar, but I warned them not to allow the devil to take part in their spiritual and physical struggles. Please pray for our pastors and believers for their spiritual relief.
