Providing Relief, Shelter, and Hope

We hope and trust God that you are doing well. We have been sincerely praying for you as we heard the news of how COVID-19 brought much destruction in the world. COVID-19 has been creating big problems in our country as well, especially for daily-wage workers who used to work in road work, construction, gravel, carpentry, hotels, and retail shops. The suicide rate during lockdown has been at least 20 people daily, which is about 3,600 or more people who have committed suicide each month because of the lockdown, no job, or family problems, according to the news.

A few months ago, there was a landslide that destroyed 59 houses, killing 11 people and injuring 35. We had the opportunity to serve landslide victims, and provide some families with shelter sheets and food and relocated them to a safer place. The relief has helped us reconnect and rebuild good relationships with the local government leaders and the public. It has widened the door for the Gospel and helped us show Jesus’ love for the communities.

We built a shelter for our students who come down from the top of the Himalayas to get a better education. Most students struggle financially due to their parents’ unstable income and are not able to send funds regularly for their children. It has been an opportunity for us to serve them. As a result, two students who attend our fellowship regularly accepted the Lord Jesus. Two students are currently staying in the student shelter, but after the lockdown is over we will have six students in the shelter.

Thank you so much for helping us to reach out to those in the top of the Himalayas. Your prayers and support for widows, children, women, and poverty alleviation have been our ministry backbone.  We are very grateful to you for your involvement in our ministry.

May God bless you, and use you for His glory and honor constantly!

Prayer points:

  1. Pray for God’s provision for our church building which will be a mission training center.
  2. Pray for operating costs for our student shelter.
  3. Pray for our discipleship and leadership training program in the Himalayas.
  4. Pray for our new converts to stand firm in faith among their family and relatives, especially our college students.
