It has been a great honor to serve Christ and His Great Commission.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20.
Recently, Pastor Mok and a team visited each of our churches to encourage and strengthen their leaders and congregation. This team went to four places in Kompong Thom province, three locations in Battambang province, twelve places in Bantey Meanchey province, six places in Siem Reap province and three places in Kompot province.
They encouraged them to register each fellowship with the government. The goal of having each house church registered is to have more authority to exercise church activities such as special church events, evangelism, and other mercy ministries at the place where they’re located. It might take some time, but it’s worth it. Please pray for us!
The Power of Prayer
Often, we see the power and the presence of our God manifest stronger to defeat the power of darkness in places where people believe and practice all forms of witchcrafts in their daily lives.
One of our church planters, Chea Phat, shared the Gospel with Kan Hour many times. Kan Hour is a 55 years old man with disease-stricken body lives in Peam Ros village.
His body was swollen, and both of his legs had a severe infection. It was too painful, and he had difficulty walking. But Kan refused to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior despite his condition that was getting worse each day.
He continued to seek treatment from many witch doctors. Eventually, people told him that they could not cure him because witchcraft spells caused his illness. Finally, on his death bed with unbearable pain, he contacted Chea and his wife to come and pray for him.
By this time, his condition was so bad that it looks like he is near death. He can’t see well and can only hear Chea’s voice. Kan pleads for prayer, but when Chea was about to pray for him, Chea’s wife pulled his hand back and told him not to do it because if he dies after the prayer, his family might hold them criminal.
But despite the warning from his wife, Chea felt that Lord prompted him strongly to pray for Kan. Chea laid his hands-on Kan and prayed to our Lord Jesus Christ to heal Kan. About thirty minutes later, the swell on him gradually reduced. We believed that it was the power of our God that worked through Kan’s body.
Kan renounced his old faith and removed the strings given by the witch doctors that were tied around his wrist and waist and some idols that he used to believe and worship. He buried them in the ground. Both Kan and his wife prayed the prayer of salvation to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Today, he is well and opened his home for worship. Every week, Chea Phat and his wife continue to travel to care for Kan and his family and established a cell-group in Peam Ros village. Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ for the healing miracle and taught Chea’s wife about the power of God as well.
Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support for the River of Life ministry. “…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine; you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
