Give hope on Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday post 1

It can be miles into the jungles of Cambodia, or across the deserts of Africa. Our ministry partners’ workers and their families often walk long distances to reach the villages where they serve.

Something like a bike or motorbike seems like a small thing, but to them, it represents hope. Hope they can get to the hospital in time in case of an emergency. Hope they can get their children to school. Hope that they can reach more people in less time with the Gospel.

It’s easy to get caught up in the commercialism of the season: First with Black Friday, then with Cyber Monday. An organization decided to bring back the giving spirit Christmas with a worldwide movement called Giving Tuesday. Each year, it rallies people to spend the first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday giving.

We agree that giving is and should be the focus of Christmas. It was for God himself when he gave his only son to be born on this earth and later die for our sins.

So this year, we are joining in the movement to provide bikes and motorbikes for our ministry workers on the field in the toughest places in the world. We are attempting to raise $30,000 today. It’s a big goal, but we believe its possible. Will you help? As we head into the Christmas season, you could bring to families the same thing that Jesus brought to us when he was born: Hope.
