Abuse Breaks Apart Family of SAC Child

Our Sponsor a Child program has been transforming the lives of children and families in the Himalayas for years. Last week, our ministry director and a team of volunteers visited a village in the border area to host a seminar for the believers there, as well as to offer general encouragement for the work being done. This is the story of one of the families that we visited in the village.

One of the children in our SAC program has a mother who is a Christian and father who is from a different faith. The child’s mother participated in our seminar, but when she returned home afterwards, her husband physically abused her, injuring her head and eyes. After this abuse, she ran away to Kathmandu with her son, who is six years old, and daughter, who is three. She is currently staying with our family because she doesn’t want to return home for fear that her husband will kill her. As a result of this situation, the children are not able to attend school and are behind in their studies. Please pray that they will be able to find a new home so that they can start school again. Pray also that their mother would be able to find work, as she is currently unemployed. We have been praying for them, as well as helping them in whatever ways we are able, but can only continue doing so for so long.

Myself as well as my family will be praying for this mother and her two children. We will pray for comfort for the children and some employment for the mother.
