Partners International Women: Replacing poverty and injustice with dignity and purpose in Christ

Update from SE Asia Team

Update from SE Asia Team

Posted on 27 Oct 2008 · By Kim Kerr, Director of Partners Intl Women

As many of you know, Kim Kerr, Carla Bowman and Sara Noone are traveling in SE Asia over the next couple weeks. They first arrived in Cambodia and then travel on to Vietnam and eventually Indonesia. Below is the first update I received on October 25th from them in Cambodia. I will continue to post their updates here as I receive them:

After 29 hours of travel, give or take an hour, we arrived safely in Phnom Penh and were delighted to receive the first of many, many blessings already--an air-conditioned room! God is with us and we are experiencing His favor every step of the way. Today we met with more than 40 Cambodian women, who primarily speak Khmer. Yet through faithful interpretation we shared a "Women in the Window" inductive study of Dorcas from Acts 9, and a devotional thought from 1 Peter 1:18-22. These women are so amazing and fervent in their faith. Regardless of their level of literacy they treasure God's word in their hearts.

For now, we do ask your continued fervent prayers on our behalf in every area (and our families) Pray for the safe delivery of our paper airplane tickets which I inadvertently left at home. They should be here Monday A.M. thanks to Jessica King and UPS Global Express. But this is Cambodia . . . so please pray!

We will also pray for you as we hold you in our hearts (Philippians 1:7) even as the Apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 1:22 " . . . see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently."

Until next time,

Partners Women team: Wigg, Carla, and Kim
