Something Special

Posted on 04 Mar 2011 · By Bob Savage, Director of Global Learning Exchange

I was making arrangements for two pastors from Texas who were going to visit our partners in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. A number of emails were going back and forth. One of them surprised me, it wasn't about the upcoming trip at all. It said ("Pak" means sort of like "Sir" in Indonesian):

Pak Bob, I have daily time prayer, we also want to pray for your household. Would you give us the name of your wife and children so that we can say them in our prayer? Thank you.

In greetings and prayers.

I only met this Indonesian leader once, for about 1 1/2 hours over breakfast, 3 years ago. And he wants to pray regularly for me, Martha and our daughters?

This is the richness of international partnership. It's not just about getting the job done.
