Christmas Outreach - Everywhere

Posted on 22 Dec 2010 · By Bob Savage, Director of Global Learning Exchange

If you were in a Muslim country during Eid al-Fitr, the big celebration at the end of Ramadan, wouldn't you appreciate being invited to a gathering with neighbors to see what all the ruckus is about? It's the same with Muslims, Hindus and others. They are curious about what Christians do at Christmas.

Chinese Christmas our partners are now starting outreach events of every kind imaginable. Maybe those who come will be more curious to learn about Santa than about Jesus, but it's still an opportunity! You can be sure that our partners will take advantage of the moment to tell the Good News about Emmanuel, God with us. Somehow holiday celebrations are a less threatening venue.

It's already started. We received this text message from a Chinese province that is near Tibet:

Praise God! Yesterday, with God's protection, remote field team #1 peacefully celebrated the CHRISTmas. 31 people responded to the message and received Jesus as their Savior and Lord, including six Tibetans.

May it be so in your church and families too, that you also see Christmas miracles this season.
