China: The Next Mission Force?

Something new happened today, something I’ve not experienced before despite working here 25 years. Partners helped send a short-term team. That part isn’t new. What’s new is that the team is made up of believers that we are connected with in China going to help believers we are connected with in India.

They prepared in much the same way as you would. I sent team training materials to them that they could adapt. They studied together about cross-cultural communication and the differences between Chinese and Indian culture. They even took a practice trip together first to another part of China that they weren’t familiar with.

They are going to help at a school for special needs children run by friends of mine, Prem and Rita. I’ve been to this school. It's a fun place to be. But, the same as if you went, this first trip is more about their own learning. They won’t be great experts at helping work in India the first time. But the potential for China to be the next mission sending force is enormous, and this is a sign that it is beginning.
