We serve God’s servants in the hard places of the world, advancing their vision for planting and growing the Church and transforming communities.

Extraordinary Christian leaders in extremely difficult places are doing fantastic work. The vision of Partners International is to help these passionate, visionary leaders accomplish their God-given vision.

We provide financial resources for strategic ministry projects across the globe—from training pastors in China to micro-enterprise loans to women in Ghana. Our core programs include Building the Church, Transforming Communities, and Empowering Women and Children.

In addition to financial resources, Partners enables ministries to strengthen and improve their organizational structure and processes through strategic planning, board governance, financial management, and local income generation.

Today, the majority of frontline Christian ministry in the hard places of the world is being done by local, indigenous believers. They know the language and the culture. They are seen as insiders, not as outsiders bringing foreign ideas. They live simply—on the same level as the locals. They have their own, God-given vision for how to best reach their people.

In 1943, when Partners began working with Christians in China, we pioneered the approach of partnering with indigenous Christian ministries, believing this is the most effective way to evangelize and establish churches. We continue to identify strategic ministries and provide an array of resources that strengthen and grow their work. The result? More than 1,600 churches were planted last year.

But the task they face is enormous. They are tiny minorities in places where another religion is dominant. The places where they live are some of the most impoverished in the world. Human need is everywhere.

They know they can’t do it alone. But they long for a certain kind of help—not for someone who comes with outside ideas about what they should do. They long for partners who come first to learn—to get to know them, understand their needs, and then, out of that understanding and friendship, to dream about what we can do together to serve and reach their people.

We believe that partnership with indigenous ministries makes a lot of sense, a combining of the passion, talents, and resources of majority-world believers with those of their brothers and sisters in Christ here.
